From January to December 2018, the total import and e*port volume of Wu*i City was about 93.4 billion US dollars, 15% year-on-year growth, ranking 2nd in the province. E*cellent transportation location, strong economic strength, good industrial base, long history and culture, and rich tourism resources make Wu*i enjoy the reputation of “small Shanghai”. 2018 Wu*i City was rated as the top 20 national central cities, the most livable city in mainland China, the top 10 foreign-invested strategic cities in the Asia-Pacific region, and one of the most internationally competitive cities in China. It was also named the best business cities in mainland China, one of the most innovative cities in mainland China, by Forbes magazine.

近年来，无锡传统产业智能化步伐加快，新兴产业发展势头良好。规模以上战略性新兴产业（制造业）增加值增长13.9%。积极筹建国家物联网创新中心、无锡国家集成电路设计产业园、国家芯火双创基地平台、海尔物联生态网基地等应用示范项目成功签约落户，成功举办2018世界物联网博览会，2018中国（无锡）国际新能源大会暨展览会等会展活动142个，启动“千企上云”行动，100个智能制造重点项目建设进展顺利，SK海力士中国销售总部落户无锡，截止到2018年底落户无锡的世界500强企业已超过100家。
