作为一种强势文化，美国大众文化通过当代快捷便利的传媒深深影响着中国社会。本篇论文将通过分析当今在中国群众中也十分流行的美国情景喜剧——生活大爆炸的一些方面来探讨美国大众文化如何影响中国社会。这部情景喜剧不仅反映了美国社会一些先进的、可取的方面，同时也折射出当代资本主义文化中的腐朽部分，带给中国社会一些不好的影响。首先，这部电视剧中表现出的美国资本主义文化中对个人价值的肯定鼓励了人民追求个人价值，保护个人隐私。然而，美国大众文化的迅速传播影响了中国传统价值观；同时，在这部电视剧中反映出来的_人民对性的开放观念也带来了一些不好的影响。由此，我们可以说，通过这部情景喜剧反映出来的美国大众文化带给了中国人民的影响是双刃剑，有利有弊。

Abstract:
American popular culture, as a dominant culture, has deeply influenced Chinese society through TV programs, especially American situation comedies. This paper attempts to use The Big Bang Theory—a very popular situation comedy to Chinese people—to discuss how American popular culture affect Chinese society. This TV series has not only good aspects but also bad influence on Chinese society. The values and attitudes appear in The Big Bang Theory may encourage Chinese people to pursue their individual value and protect people’s privacy. Meanwhile, the rapidly spreading of American culture also impacts traditional Chinese values; and theres a fair amount of se*ual innuendo in this sitcom. The American situation comedy has both good and bad sides to Chinese society.

1.1 The show is a popular American situation comedy
Nowadays, American situation comedies are very popular among Chinese college students because of its accessibility, fun and usefulness. As an essential aspect of American popular culture, American situation comedies deeply affect Chinese college students’ values and attitudes. In recent years, The Big Bang Theory has become one of the most favored American situation comedies among Chinese people. It ranks top ten of “What is the most watched American situation comedy” ranking lists of online video websites such as Sohu, Tudou, and E-mule .

1.2 The Big Bang Theory is a typical American situation comedy
The Big Bang Theory is more than a popular American situation comedy; it is actually a culture phenomenon. Its popularity among Chinese youth indicates that Americanization is widely and well accepted by Chinese youths.
